For Christmas, we centred the campaign on discovering new passions. As Bongo’s PR partner, we developed a creative concept that encouraged people to step outside their usual routine and ask themselves: what would I still love to try, learn or experience? We selected and activated ten relevant content creators and brought them together for an inspiring afternoon that brought the campaign theme to life. Think vision boards to turn ambitions into something tangible, paired with a personal card reading as an unexpected twist — a moment to reflect on what they would like to do in 2026, beyond their comfort zone. We then guided them through content creation and storytelling. Each creator booked and experienced a Bongo activity and translated that into an authentic story for their own community — from indoor skydiving and track driving to a city break.

For Valentine’s Day, we built on the same strategic foundation while widening the scope. The content moved beyond romantic love alone to include friendship, family ties and even the love people have for their pets. Once again, we curated a targeted group of influencers and provided a clear content framework, while leaving enough room for each creator to interpret the theme in their own way — warm, relatable and free from cliché. The result: 18 influencers, with a combined reach of more than 300,000 people, who inspired their audiences to choose experiences over physical gifts.

Reputation under pressure: rapid response

Just before Christmas, we also had to tackle a reputational challenge. WinWin aired a critical report in which the ombudsman raised concerns about experience vouchers such as Bongo. The item also incorrectly claimed that Bongo had not been available for comment, both to VRT and to the consumer ombudsman. We acted immediately to set the record straight.

In close collaboration with the client, we quickly drafted a clear and well-founded statement, contacted VRT and ensured that Bongo’s response was recorded and included in the evening news that same day. At the same time, we developed a broader crisis response to limit any further reputational damage: we anticipated follow-up media enquiries, sharpened messaging and Q&As, and reviewed individual cases to ensure all communication remained accurate and transparent. Thanks to a fast and coordinated joint effort, we were able to shift the narrative and make sure the right facts reached the public.
