From books to groceries, student life is expensive. Fortunately, students in Belgium can work 600 hours each year in reduced social contributions. Thanks to Student@work, an online service provided by the RSZ, they can also easily see how many hours they have already worked. But many students are not yet familiar with this app. It's up to us to change that.
In 2023, our focus was on a strong social media plan. We looked for and found some student ambassadors to make videos about student jobs for Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube. Those videos struck a chord. Students appreciated the authenticity and recognized their own lifestyles. An insight we took with us into 2024.
We decided to highlight the student experience even more with a bilingual podcast series: Student B@bbels. In each episode, a student talks to a content creator, such as Lotte Vanwezemael or Nona Van Braeckel, who did the same study. All aspects of student life and student jobs are covered.
The podcast was the hero of this campaign. From our vision of "Podcast as a Platform," we pulled content from the 8 episodes for Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Google Search and Demand Gen, VTM GO and RTL. This gave us a total of 16 short clips and plenty of cool quotes, useful tips and funny anecdotes. With 14,177,082 impressions, 185,817 clicks, those, like the students, certainly did their job too.
