Taking care of all press communications for a large organization like UCCL, that's a comprehensive assignment:

  • We advised on and coordinated all press communications
  • We prepared UCLL researchers, faculty and students for press interviews
  • We edited the press releases
  • We proactively contacted journalists and capitalized on trending topics to bring in UCLL experts
  • We organized press actions and moments
  • We attended the UCLL news council
  • We were in charge of press and social media screening

We sent out a total of 53 press releases and invitations, highlighting a wide range of topics. A small sample?

  • The exam-free day after the elections - the first college! - so that students who are living in digs and voting do not lose valuable study time.
  • The victory of the UCLL Sharks at the Hasselt Student Regatta (for the second year in a row!).
  • Ten new postgraduates
  • The shortage of kindergarten teachers, which we pitched in several radio interviews

That's quite an accomplishment for just five months, but the results are certainly impressive: more than 500 articles were published during this period! If that isn't a kiss from the professor and a solid step forward, I don't know what is.
